Origin Films started with two friends who loved making videos and grew into a Toronto-based team of directors, producers, editors, strategists, developers, and marketers. Today, we bring creative and strategy under one roof to help brands create work that looks great, reaches the right people, and actually moves the business forward.

Origin Films was founded in 2017 by lifelong best friends, Pouya Mirzaei and Danny Bui. Our journey began back in grade 5, bonded by a shared love for film. By grade 6, we were already creating videos together for school projects, driven by pure passion and creativity.

Today, what started as childhood dreams has grown into a full-fledged video production company, trusted by top brands like McDonald’s, Pepsi, Remax, Under Armour, Call of Duty, and People’s Magazine. We specialize in commercials, corporate videos, organic social media content, and more, including collaborations with innovators like Jon Youshaei and Hacksmith Industries.

A visionary filmmaker at Origin Films, Danny brings life to every project. With over 15+ years of experience, he has directed and produced 300+ commercial, corporate, and social media content projects for top global brands. Danny is dedicated to innovation and continually perfecting his craft.

Pouya has been creating video content since age 12. With 15+ years of experience, he leads Origin Films and Origin Weddings, growing their social accounts to 200k followers and 100M+ views. He now focuses on strategic organic social media content, pushing the boundaries of organic growth.

Selectively. The studio works primarily with GTA-headquartered companies because in-person production and ongoing collaboration matter to the work. Companies outside the GTA are taken on case by case, typically for projects with significant on-location work or a long-running retainer commitment.
